Free Google index checker
Paste your URLs below and get one verdict each — Indexed, Not indexed, or
Error. No account, no card, no
site: searches.
Where "free" ends
Being straight about it, because you will find out at some point and it may as well be now: this is not an unlimited free tool. Every check costs us a paid query to a search data provider, so a genuinely unlimited free tier would either be funded by selling your data or would quietly stop working.
Ten URLs here, with no account, is enough to see whether the verdicts are worth anything to you. An account adds 50 more credits and raises the limit to 1,000 URLs per run, with export and saved history. After that, credits come in packs starting at $10 for 5,000 URLs. There is no subscription, and credits never expire — an unused balance stays yours.
Errors do not cost you. If a check cannot complete, it is reported as an Error rather than guessed at — and on a paid run the credit goes back to your balance.
Why not just use site:?
Because it does not scale and it is not reliable. Google has said the site:
operator is not a dependable way to tell whether a page is indexed — it omits pages that
are in the index and its counts are estimates. Run it a few dozen times in a row and you
will meet a CAPTCHA long before you finish a list worth checking.
For a single URL on a site you own, Search Console's URL Inspection is the authoritative answer and you should use it. The gap this fills is the other case: a list, or URLs on domains you have no Search Console access to — the guest posts, directory listings and profile links you paid for and cannot verify any other way. The backlink index checker page covers that case.
The longer version, including which methods lie and when, is in how to check if a page is indexed by Google.
Questions
- Is the Google index checker really free?
- The checker on this page is free and needs no account at all — paste up to 10 URLs and you get a verdict each. Creating an account adds 50 more credits after email verification — one credit per URL checked, or per page of Google results read for a keyword — with no card required. Past that, credits come in packs.
- Do I have to sign up to check a URL?
- No. The checker on this page runs without an account. Signing up is only for checking more than 10 URLs at a time, saving results, exporting, or using the API.
- How many URLs can I check at once?
- Ten on this page with no account. Up to 1,000 in a single run once you have an account.
- Do I need Google Search Console?
- No. The check queries the public Google index, so it works for any URL on any domain — including sites you do not own, such as guest posts and directory listings.
- Is there a CAPTCHA?
- Not one you solve repeatedly. The free checker runs an invisible bot check once; from then on you are never challenged or throttled, which is the difference from running site: searches by hand.
